Updating your Card Reader Firmware
On occasion a software update will be provided for the Card Reader. These updates can be either optional or mandatory.

When a Card Reader software update is available, you will see an ‘Update' control in the App menu. Software updates for the Card Reader are either optional or mandatory.

Optional Updates
We recommend that you apply any optional software updates, but if not applied, you may continue to accept card payments.

Mandatory Updates
Mandatory software updates usually have a period of grace after you are notified of the update, after the grace period expires the update must be applied before new card payments can be taken.

Note:

  • Before you install the update, make sure your card reader is plugged into a power supply and is connected to the App.
  • Keep your card reader close to the phone / tablet that has the App until the software update completes.

Start the update by tapping your finger on the Update control in the menu. Confirm you wish to apply the update, and you will be notified when it completes.

The update process can take approximately 10 minutes to complete. During the update please ensure that your smartphone or tablet screen does not turn off and you do not navigate away from the Dream app during the download and transfer process as it will interrupt the update.

Once the update is complete your Card Reader will restart twice, after which you can then pair your Card Reader via Bluetooth and begin accepting transactions.
